Dr Jinli Cao is a senior lecturer in Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering of La Trobe University. She was a lecturer in computing at the Department of Maths & Computing, Faculty of Sciences of University of Southern Queensland (1999 - Dec. 2002). She worked as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science of James Cook University from 1998 July --1999 June. She was a lecturer level A at the Dept. of Maths & Computing from 1997 Feb -1998 June. She was awarded her PhD degree in Computer Science at University of Southern Queensland in 1997. She started the PhD program since 1993 at QUT and continued the study in the Department of Mathematics and Computing of USQ. The research project was on "Transaction management in Multidatabase systems". She completed a BSc (Eqv. to Hons A) in 1982 at Hebei University in China. From 1982 to 1990 she worked successively as an associate lecturer and lecturer in computer Science at Hebei University, China.  She was involved in the development of the curriculum of computer science in Hebei University in 1983. She was the first generation of computer scientist in Hebei University.
