Basic background requirements in Games Technology

The five basic background requirements needed for work in the games industry are:

  1. Experience in C++ programming (5 years)
  2. Mathematics (to 2nd year University at least)
  3. Physics (to 1st year University at least)
  4. Good communications / teamworking skills
  5. Dedication to playing games

The requirements for R&D (Research & Development) work in Games Technology are quite similar. A sound knowledge of Maths, Physics, Computer Graphics and C++ programming is needed.
